We know that God loves us but how much? - Victor King

But God shows and clearly proves His own love for us by the fact that WHILE we were still sinners, Christ (the Anointed One) died for us - Romans 5:8

Everyone in the Body of Christ knows that God is a loving God. Even unbelievers have heard that our God loves us. We have heard alot about God's love. We all know that God loves us but the question is how much does He love us?

We might have heard that God loves us according to how much we love Him and at many times we tend to measure and compare God's love to men's love. That's when the problem starts :-)

Friends, we only can love God when we know how much God loves us and God's love cannot be compared to our love.

The bible tells us in Roman 5:7-8 that very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die but God shows and clearly proves His own love for us by the fact that WHILE we were still sinners, Christ   died for us.

Some of us were worshiping idols, living in sin and even hated Christianity. In our sinful rebellious life, Christ still died for us. He knew all that we were going to do and yet He died for us. This is true love. Not that we love God but God loving us.

For God so loved   the world that he gave his one begotten Son, that each man that believeth in him perish not, but have everlasting life - John 3:16

God loves the world and He desires them to believe in Him and not perish. So how much more for a child of God? How is God's love measured for a child of God?

How much does God love us?

Answer: According The Cross of Jesus Christ.

God loves us according to the measure of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God does not love us according to our good works, good behavior or the lack of it. God does not love us more when we are more spiritually committed, pray more, fast more or give more offerings.

Nothing wrong with all of these but God does not love us according to what we do, say and think. God loves us according to His Grace that He showed through the Cross of Jesus Christ.

When you tell an average Christian that God loves him, he might say 'yes and amen' but deep down within him, he might doubt God's love because of his sins and failures. He might know that God is a loving God but will God still love him inspied of his sins and failures?

Some of us might know that God loves us but will He still love us in the midst of our sins, shortcomings and failures? Or are we good enough to deserve God's love?

Lets go to the Word of God......

The bible says that Jesus died for all our sins on the Cross.

" For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins " - Matthew 26:28

"....that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through his Name."

Jesus died for all our sins, failures and wrong doings on the Cross and because of that, something happen to God. God now at this very moment CANNOT remember you sins, failures your wrong doings anymore ! He remembered all of it on the Body of Jesus Christ and punished Him on our behalf.

" For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness NO MORE   "
Hebrews 8:12

" I WILL NOT remember their sins and wrong-doings Anymore."   - Hebrews 10:17

So how would a God who cannot remember you sins, failures and lawlessness in thoughts, words and deeds love you??????

Think about it......

I know its too good to be true but that is God's Love and that's why God's Perfect love cannot be compared to men's love. Our love is limited, fluctuates and its conditional.

How do you think God will love you now knowing that He cannot remember your sins because of the Cross of Jesus Christ and that's why the Bible says in Romans 8:38-39
" For I am persuaded beyond doubt am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in! Christ Jesus our Lord.

Your sins, failures and your wrong thoughts, words and deeds cannot separate you from God's love because God is for you and not against you. All thanks to Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross. God loves you according to the Cross of Jesus Christ.

The Law of First mention

If that is not enough, God proved from the beginning of His Word that He will love us according to the Sacrifice of Jesus through the Cross.

The first time love is ever mentioned in the Bible is in Genesis 22:2   - God said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will tell you.

Genesis 22:2 is a picture of God's only begotten son, Jesus being sacrificed and offered as a burnt offering for us on a mount Calvary. That was how God was going to show His love to us through the Cross of Jesus Christ, our burnt offering.

But God shows His own love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8

God loves us according to the Cross of Jesus Christ. His love is NOT based on our right doing or the lack of it. His love is not based on us.

Good News???

How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. - Psalm 36:7

Agape Love

Few years ago, I happen to read a definition of the word Agape or God's love and there was this very beautiful meaning to it. I cant remember where I read it but it speaks so much of the True Love of God according to the Finish Work of Jesus Christ..

Agape - Unfailing, Unconditional, Unselfish sacrificial love to someone who is not worthy of it.

All because of the Cross. All because of Grace. There are no strings attached to God's Perfect Love. God's Love never fails and He is not selfish.

So when the next time someone comes to you and tells you that God loves you, say amen! and know that He loves according to the Cross of Jesus Christ. Yes! you did not deserve it and that's why its all abut His Grace towards us. All of Christ and none of us.

God does not remember your sins anymore. I love! the way Paul says it in Acts 13:38 " So let it be clearly known and understood by you, brethren, that through this Man Jesus,   forgiveness and removal of sins is now proclaimed to you "

Amen!!!!!! Be blessed in Christ and God loves you very much.

Grace
Reedems
And
Cleanses
Everyone

Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus - Romans 8:1
