Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is rich [in earthly wealth] glory and boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches
But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord - Jeremiah 9:23 - 24
Another version
But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things.I, the Lord, have spoken - Jeremiah 9:24
Some people think that Christians are not allowed to be boastful and they can't boast at all. Well, nothing could be further from the Truth. You've just read that we still can boast. To boast IN THE LORD. We don't boast in and of ourselves but we boast and take pride in the Lord. We boast in His Grace, Goodness, Love and Mercy. We boast that we Know Him.
Down the years, well meaning Christians have diverted from boasting in the Blesser to boasting in their Blessings. NOTHING wrong with having blessings. Praise the Lord for blessings! Blessings are good and awesome! Blessings are of God. Jesus had to die! on the Cross to pay for our abundant blessings. Its our blood bought rights to claim for our blessings because of Jesus.
We like to boast in our promotions, our jobs, family, education, relationships, children, marriage and the things that are around us. We boast in our deliverance, miracle's, victories and breakthrough's. Again, nothing wrong with all of these blessings. Jesus had to die for it. He paid the price but this is Not God's best for us. If you read your Bible by the Grace of God, you will find that most of infact all boasting is IN THE LORD.
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God - Psalm 20:7
I will boast only in the Lord;let all who are helpless take heart - Psalm 34:2
Lean, focus, rest and trust in the Blesser than the blessings. Blessings can change and fluctuate but the Blesser will never change. The bible tells us to seek ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and ALL these things shall be added unto you - Matthew 6:33.
When you just seek the Blesser, the Blessings will be added unto you.
The Bible also tells us that Heaven and earth will perish and pass away, but God's Word will not perish or pass away - Mark 13:31.
In the Beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God Himself - John 1:1. So even if heaven and earth with all the blessings shall pass away, God will still remain.
Put your trust and expectation in the Blesser who will never change forevermore than the blessings which can change and pass away. When your trust is in the Blesser, the Solid Rock, He can make a new heaven, earth and new blessings for you, amen!
Many Christians who have boasted and trusted in their blessings, be it finance, relationship, jobs, positions or any other blessings and have been very disappointed, angry and doubtful towards God when things don't happen the way they wanted it to happen.. Some even hated God. Some "backslided". They even quote this very famous scripture "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away "
Even if the Blessings can change, the Blesser change not. When your trust is in the Blesser and if bad things should affect your blessings, Well, the Blesser will open up another door for you. If something happens to your job, He can bless you with another job. If its relationship, the Blesser can bless you with a better relationship or restore it.
In the Lord all the generations of Israel will be justified, and IN HIM they will boast - Isaiah 45:25
It could be anything, the Blesser can always bless you again. The bible tells us that God's people are zealous but are destroyed because of the lack of knowledge. They rather put their trust in their blessings than the Blesser and get disappointed. Place your trust and hope in the Blesser..
Paul knew it best.......
" Yet I dare not boast about anything except what Christ has done through me......... " - Romans 15:18
" As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ " - Galatians 6:14
" Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord " - 1 Corinthians 1:31
" However, let him who boasts and glories, boast and glory in the Lord " - 2 Corinthians 10:17
Boast in the lord. Boast that you know him in his grace, love and mercy. boast about the cross where he paid your sins and all negative things away. boast that he is your father. boast that he sees you clean, white and pure because of the finish work of jesus and all blessings shall be added.
boast about him and in him!! boast about his grace
As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord " - 2 Corinthians 10:17
" As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ " - Galatians 6:14
