JESUS. A precious name that was misunderstood by many. Have you ever wondered about the nature, the character and the purpose of that Name. The Bible tells us in Matthew 1:21 the very reason why JESUS came here. To save us in everything. Sometimes we have this idea that JESUS saves us once and after that we have to save ourselves in our Christian walk.
Lets look at what the Bible says about this; For it is JESUS who rescued and saved us from such a perilous death, and He will still rescue and save us; in and on Him we have set our hope (our joyful and confident expectation) that He will again deliver us [from danger and destruction and draw us to Himself] - 2 Corinthians 1:10.
The name of JESUS tells it all. HIS heart is longing just to save us, " For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them" - Luke 9:56
Some Christian’s thinks that JESUS will only help them when they are good, faithful and obedient but we were not good in the first place to begin with.
He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy, He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit - Titus 3:5 (NLT). And some of them thinks that GOD allows bad things to happen to them so HE can discipline them or to increase their faith. When something terrible happens, they say that it is the will of GOD. It is so sad when you hear people say that. It is almost like GOD is a fault finder. They think that GOD is always disappointed with them when they do wrong things and waiting when is their next fall but that is Not the JESUS of the Bible, " For I have not come to judge, to condemn, to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on the world, but to save the world " - John 12:47. How much more is HIS saving power to believers, I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered - Ezekiel 34:22. All those that came to JESUS were saved and delivered. JESUS is not the cause for our problems in our lives.
Why would the Savior give you a problem and then comes and save you?? It makes no sense. GOD is not double minded or Schizophrenia. In HIM is Yes and Amen.
-- Saving us from our enemy
We do have an enemy who is behind our problems. The bible says the The enemy comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. Jesus came so we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) John 10:10. [ The enemy's job is to accuse and destroy and JESUS' job is to save us ] "....for I am with you to rescue and save you," declares the LORD - Jeremiah 15:20. For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you - Deuteronomy 20:4. GOD is not only with you in your problems but HE fights for you.
-- In trouble times
GOD is not going to run away and stay far away from us when sin, fail or the trouble is of our own making. Our Savior is also Love and love knows no limits., HE will still deliver and rescue us " ....for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them" - Ezekiel 37:23. Not only HE saves you but HE will exalt and honor you " He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will save him and honor him - Psalm 91:15. We have heard of men honoring GOD but have you heard of GOD honoring men? Well you just did ( Psalm 91:15 ) Too good to be true? That's why HE is LOVE. HIS heart to save us and to love us not to find fault.
One of the definition of Agape Love or the Love of GOD is ' unfailing, unselfish, unconditional, sacrificial love to someone who is not worthy of it’. What a mouthful! but i believe that this is The definition of agape love. In fact, you just take one of it like unfailing and it is more than enough but GOD is more than that.
So, the next time when you come across the Love of GOD or God’s love, just know that God’s love is unfailing, unselfish, unconditional, sacrificial love to someone who is not worthy of it. How can this be possible?
Because JESUS died and paid for it.
GOD is not hard on HIS people. He wants to them depend on HIM and John 14:16 tells us the role of the Holy Sprit in us, "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby)...." In and of ourselves we are nothing without HIM. HE wants to help us in everthing. "Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will give you strength, and for sure I will help you. Yes! I will hold you up with My right hand that is right and good" Isaiah 41:10 (NLV).
" Therefore JESUS is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them" - Hebrews 7:25
