" The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. " - Deuteronomy 31:8
You are not alone in your life, you are not alone in struggles, trial's, temptations, tribulations and disappointments. You are not alone in your relationships. You are not alone in your success and achievements. You are not alone in your Race in life. God HIMSELF has gone before you.
Don't run your race by yourself like an orphan. Let your Father God take over your race in life and you just rest in His Grace. ( Unmerited, Unearned and Undeserved Favor of God )
God + RACE = GRACE
" But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me " - 1 Corinthians 15:10.
When God takes over your race, He does the work and you get the credit. Its a life of Rest.
In Galatians chapter 5, Paul tells us to live by Grace and not by the law. Verse 4 tells us that If we seek to be justified, declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, we are brought to nothing and separated from Christ. We have fallen away from grace. Verse 5 tells us that we are not relying on the Law but through the Holy Spirit's help by faith.
If you notice in verse 6, Paul says that " You were running the race nobly. Who has interfered and stopped you from your heeding and following the Truth?" What kind of a race was Paul talking about in verse 6?
Remember, in this Chapter Paul is speaking about law and Grace. If we are guided and led by the Holy Spirit (Grace), we are not subject to the Law (verse 18).
Paul was saying that the Christians were living by the Grace of God and there were some who tried to bring in the law. They were trying to interfere and stop the Christians from following the Truth.
Looks like living by Grace and running the race are synonymous!
When we see the word running the ' race ' we think that its a race that we are suppose to run ourselves by our own effort but nothing could be further from the truth, Paul is saying When you live by Grace, you are actually running a " race ". A race that is ran by God Himself. He is carrying you through.
Let God run your race by His Grace and not by your self-efforts( Law ). Many Christians are trying to run their own lives. They are trying to fight, protect and supply for themselves. They think that life is a rat race and so they try to run it by themselves. They rather seek for rules, regulations, methods and principals to run their lives than to believe that God Himself will take care of them by His Grace.
Paul defines 'running a race, is living by Grace'. Let Christ help you to live your life and run your race...... " it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Anointed) lives in me " - Galatians 2:20.
The bible says in Titus 2:11 that the Grace of God has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. Who came and delivered us from sin and gave us eternal life? Jesus!
Grace is a Person! JESUS Himself is Grace. Grace is Not! a doctrine or denomination.
The law was given by Moses but Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ - John 1:17
Grace - ( Father, Son and Holy Spirit ) All of Christ, none of me. Christ Confident and Christ Conscious. Confident in the the blood, the death, the finish work and the Resurrection power of Jesus Christ, the sacrificial lamb of God who took away all of our sins and paid the penalty of our sins. Past! Present! and Future!
Unmerited, Unearned and Undeserved Favor of God.
Law -( Me, myself and I ) All of me none of Christ. Self Confident. Self Deserving. Self Conscious. Self Righteous, Confident in the power of self performance, good works and holiness. Confident in the negative circumstances than the Saving power of the Cross. Rules, regulations and methods.
The bible says that we are not under law but under Grace (Romans 6:14) We are not under a system of rules and regulations that were given at mount Sinai by moses (Galatians 4:24 ) but we are under a Person, Jesus Christ who is taking care of us and running our race. Who gave Himself up for us and died for us and as us to give His own life, the God kind of life.
Take advantage of the Grace of God. Use the Grace of God. Let the Grace of God run your life. As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. (2 Corinthians 6)
Galatians 2:21 - Therefore, I do not treat God's Grace as something of minor importance and defeat its very purpose; I do not set aside, invalidate, frustrate and nullify the Grace of God. For if justification (righteousness, acquittal from guilt) comes through the Law, then Christ died to no purpose and in vain. His death was then wholly superfluous.
Let His Grace flow in your life. Let Him take care of you. Don't be proud by taking care of yourself. "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). Add God in your race and its all about Grace.
Weakness,Trials and Tribulations
2 Corinthians 12:9 - But He said to me, My Grace (loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you and sufficient against any danger. My Grace enables you to bear the trouble manfully, for My strength and power are made perfect, fulfilled and completed and show themselves most effective in your weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ may rest (dwell) upon me
Prosperity
2 Corinthians 8:9 - For you know the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
Right doing.
2 Corinthians 9:8 - And God is able to make all Grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
Sin
Romans 6:14 - For sin shall no longer exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under Grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].
Fellowship
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us then approach the throne of Grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find Grace to help us in our time of need.
There are many more promises concerning us and the Grace of God. Its all about God's Grace. Its all about Jesus. Let us not live like orphans. We have a Daddy who takes care of us. He counts the hair on out heads. How much more will He take care of our daily needs. God is a Good God.
You won't become less effective, lazy or sin more if you let the Grace of God run your race!
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:10 " But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me "
For Paul, running a race is to live a life of Grace.
You will become more effective, successful, sufficient and live a Godly life when you let God live your life and run your race. Between you and the Holy Spirit...........I'm sure the Holy Spirit does a better job, amen.
Rest in His unfailing love and let Him run your race by living in His Grace.
